Valle de Bravo

Continuing the slow march toward Mexico City, I stopped in Valle de Bravo for a few days. Located two hours from Mexico City, this small lakeside town is a popular weekend destination for the capital's upper middle class. As a fun fact, it's also considered Mexico's "Woodstock", having hosted a rock festival back in 1971 that legendarily attracted about 300,000 hippies.

Valle is a top destination for paragliders as well, their parachutes are a constant presence circling over the hills in the distance:

One unlikelier find here in the outskirts of Valle is the largest Buddhist Stupa in the whole western hemisphere. A Stupa is a funerary monument devoted to global peace, prosperity and harmony, built on lands carefully chosen for their magnetic energy.
